Source: MSNBC

CUPERTINO, Calif. — An employee reportedly walked into a meeting at a Northern California quarry Wednesday and started shooting, killing 2 and injuring six others, police said. The suspect was not yet in custody, according to local media outlets.

KNTV in San Francisco had previously reported that three people were killed, but police later said two of the eight people shot were dead.

The conditions of the six wounded were unknown.

Santa Clara County Sheriff's spokesman Jose Cardoza said the shooting occurred around 4 a.m. Wednesday, according to the Associated Press.

CUPERTINO, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say a woman has been shot in an attempted carjacking by a man matching the description of a gunman who killed two people and wounded six others at a Northern California limestone quarry.

Santa Clara County Sheriff's spokesman Jose Cardoza says the woman was shot Wednesday morning at a Cupertino intersection by the suspect, who then fled on foot.

Cardoza says the suspect used a weapon similar to the gun used in the quarry shooting earlier Wednesday morning.

The victim was taken to the hospital. Her condition was unknown.

4. Correction: KNTV is in San Jose
it is, in fact, about one block north of this very cubicle.

And since it's the NBC station for the Bay Area, you'd think BSNBC would know that. :dunce:

http://www.mercurynews.com/crime-courts/ci_19044864

Suspect Shareef Allman lives at Stonegate Apartments on Renaissance Drive in San Jose. Police are keeping reporters away from the apartment complex.

... Shareef Allman is a producer of a show called Real 2 Real on San Jose's CreatTV. In a video interview, he told the host that his "day job" is as a miner who drives heavy equipment. He also has written a book called "Amazing Grace," a book intended to empower women against domestic violence.

"It's fiction but deals with people I've met throughout my life," Allman said in the interview. "I'm a father and raised a daughter from birth, and growing up in that type of environment and seen men abuse women, I said I can do something as an individual to make a difference."

In one of Allman's Real 2 Real shows, he conducts a sidewalk interview with Jesse Jackson. He also interviews young men about what it's like to grow up without a father.
