Hundreds join SF protest of Wall Street
Source: San Francisco Chronicle

(10-05) 18:44 PDT San Francisco -- Hundreds of people marched through downtown San Francisco on Wednesday, joining a growing movement whose followers believe the nation's financial system is broken and its distribution of wealth unfair.

The demonstrators, who at one point peaked at about 800 strong, held a peaceful march through the Financial District that included chants, "The banks got bailed out, we got sold out," and "We are the 99 percent," in reference to their argument that only 1 percent of the U.S. population controls the wealth.

The Occupy SF movement began on Sept. 17 with six people gathering outside the former Bank of America center on California Street in solidarity with protesters in New York who set up camp in Zuccotti Park that same day.

In the two weeks since, support for the movement - both nationally and locally - has swelled. Participants of Occupy SF demonstrate in solidarity with the core values of Occupy Wall Street in New York, as do many of the other "Occupy" movements that have sprung up in cities across the country.

I love visiting LA. I lived in Santa Barbara about three years, just above LA. LA has a wonderful vibe to it, and far, far more palm trees, which I love. I even used to go down to Dodger games,(even though I like the Giants.) and have always been a Laker Fan. I love California.. all of it. I have never been to San Diego, but hope to visit some day. I have heard its a lovely city. I am a California girl, born and raised in this state.. I have no problems with North and South. Each has its own charm and besides everyone knows...So Cal has the best beaches! Especially in Orange County!

San Francisco has the best Nihon Machi, but some day I would love to visit Little Tokyo and the one in San Jose. Whats not to love about California?

8. Birthplace of Bank of America.
Founded by an Italian immigrant, to help folks of his beloved new country rebuild after an earthquake.

Or so the official story goes, anyway. I was always touched by it.

9. correct
and his name was A. P. Giannini. After he passed away his daughter took over Bank of America and gave up on it not long after that.

My late father (an old native of SF) lived and died believing in Bank of America.

I suspect A. P. Giannini is rolling over in his grave right now given what has happened to his bank which was originally called The Bank of Italy and became the Bank of America after the 1906 earthquake. He opened up the offices after the great quake and dispensed funds to his customers. For this reason, Bank of America gained the grand reputation it had at one time.

Sadly, it has failed miserably in recent times.
