Town Evacuated After Train Derailment
Source: NBC

The town of Tiskilwa in central Illinois was being evacuated early Friday after an overnight train derailed and its tanker cars exploded.

Fire officials told the Chicago Tribune the cars were carrying ethanol and maybe other chemicals when the train derailed at about 2 a.m. and the cars exploded. Residents said it sounded like a bomb going off.

The incident happened on the east edge of town, near a subdivision. HazMat teams were dispatched from seven area towns.

Tiskilwa, a town of about 800, is about eight miles south of Princeton. Residents were being taken to Princeton High School.

2. Goodness, I hope that thingy wasn't necessary.
Being a woman whose offspring could recognize and define sarcasm by the time they were three, I found your comment remarkably on target.

5. Brand is...
Well, I think he's rubbish as a comedian. I don't find him funny at all. He issued a statement about the rioting in England earlier this year and it struck a chord with me.

8. The free hand of the market has wiped out poverty and war throughout the world already.
And it's made the planet more environmentally safe.

And while the poles are melting, Hell is freezing over.
