Cops remove protesters at midnight
Source: Daily Lobo

At least 20 UNM and state police officers showed up at midnight Sunday with plastic zip handcuffs and canine units and informed the 30-40 Occupy Albuquerque protesters on campus they would have to leave the University.

Protesters gathered their blankets and bags and left Yale Park, the movement’s campsite, en masse under glaring police lights. Many of them headed to The Albuquerque Peace and Justice center parking lot located at Harvard Drive and Silver Avenue. Protesters have been camping out on campus since Oct. 1.

2. Odd, the crackdown usually happens in the wee hours when they surprise the sleeping
The occupation had already moved once at the request of the campus cops.

5. Yep. This tactic is bein used widely.
Well, it says something about how police departments feel about roustng the protesters that they are mostly doing it when there are few witnesses and in the dark.

They did it to Hoovervilles back in the 30s, too.

7. WOW! I just heard about this on Randi Rhodes show...a guy that was there told the story.
Amazing.

It sounds like they were suckered by the Campus police...It will remain to be seen WHO exactly
called in the State police, with their Storm Trooper gear, batons, dogs and all...at MIDNIGHT
while the people were sleeping.

...who pulled strings to bring in the Police Militia?
