Spanish MP to sue FBI for using his face in al-Qaida 'most wanted' photos (bin Laden)
Source: The Guardian

First the FBI used his face to represent Osama bin Laden on a "most wanted" poster. Then they doctored his image again to make him look like another senior al-Qaida leader.

Now the Spanish MP Gaspar Llamazares has had enough and says he plans to sue the FBI, after pointing out that both men ended up dead.

Llamazares said he was unhappy with the apologies he received after his face was used as the basis for a computerised mock-up of how Osama bin Laden might have looked several months before he was killed in Pakistan in May.

The deputy for the leftwing United Left party said his photograph was also used to create a "most wanted" poster for another senior al-Qaida leader, Atiyah Abd al-Rahman, who was killed in Pakistan in August.

5. Too many people at Langley might recognise him ...
... from their past deals ... can't have too accurate a picture on
a "Wanted" poster can you? Next you'd be wanting the poster to name
the only "crime" that Bush linked Bin Laden's name with rather than
the only one that was on the warrant for his arrest (clue: it had
nothing to do with September 11th 2001).

2. From what I've read at DU
Mr. Llamazares should just turn himself in for a fair trial. If he winds up on the receiving end of a drone missile strike, it's his own fault, and anyone who gets blown to Kingdom Come with him should have been more careful about who they associate with.

It's a good thing I have DU here to keep me informed on the latest trends in ethical fashion, so I can be sure to trim my principles to fit this year's model.

6. The Constitution of the United States does not protect Mr. Llamazares
Or anyone else, apparently, but that is another issue.

7. Indeed.
While we may not technically be at war with Spain, the war on terror is global. So if we have to hit him with a drone there, it's all perfectly legal and ethical and anyone that doesn't cheer is to be viewed with suspicion.
