Mahmoud Ahmadinejad denies Saudi plot claims

Iran's president has said US claims of a plot to assassinate a Saudi envoy are as false as its allegations were about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said the US had hoped to make people forget about its "internal economic problems".

In an appearance on al-Jazeera he also said the US was looking for an excuse to toughen sanctions against Iran.

Saudi Arabia meanwhile asked the UN Security Council to look into what it called a "heinous conspiracy".

When you are on the side of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, can it ever be the right side? By denying it so much, it lends to the idea that this might all be true in my mind.

someone without any interest in the incident can state categorically, based on evidence, that no such plot existed, will I believe that.

Maybe it's true. Maybe not. But if Iran did do that, they most certainly are not going to admit it, esp since it failed.

I tend to believe it, though. Makes sense.
