Newt: I Will Nominate John Bolton For Secretary Of State-America's former ambassador to the UN
Edited on Wed Dec-07-11 06:04 PM by kpete
Source: Talking Points Memo

..........................

Yes, that John Bolton.

In his speech, Gingrich took aim at Obama’s State Department, claiming under the command of Hillary Clinton it’s become an agency focused on “appeasing our opponents.”

Gingrich said Bolton be charged with cleaning that problem right up.

“I will only appoint him if he will agree that his first job is the complete and thorough transformation of the State Department and the replacement of the current foreign service culture with a new entrepreneurial and aggressive culture dedicated to the propositions that …defending America is the first business of the State Department.”

5. That is not the goal of the State Department......
The role of the Department of State is to manage our affairs with other nations. One component of their mission is to be eyes and ears and report back to Washington. It is also their mission to communicate America's position on matters of interest. But it is not the State Department's job to bully other nations or to defend America. That is why we have a DEFENSE Department Newt. You are more of a fucking mo4on than i thought.

7. That should guarantee PermaWar, which is required for the other main GOPer...
goal: The Unitary Presidency.

Under a Unitary Presidency the executive can countermand and overrule any Constitutional right as long as he/she declares a "national emergency." And what is a "national emergency?" A time of war.

In Newt's world, the only good Shia will be a dead Shia. The only good oil will be oil pumped by a European or American compamy--except for that in Saudi Arabia.

So, has the WaPo come out in support of NeoCon Newt yet?

Yeah, THAT guy. Shoot first, ask questions later. And did Newt actually use the terms "entrepreneurial" and "defending America" in the same sentence? Sounds like Haliburton could be getting ready to stage a comeback in securing a few more juicy no-bid / no accountability defense contacts. Nice one Newt!

Edited on Thu Dec-08-11 02:24 AM by winstars
Sorry but it's shit like this that makes me HAVE to vote for the prez and tell my friends to vote for the prez... All of the insults to progressive issues by the prez must be overlooked:

BECAUSE THE OTHER GUYS LOVE JOHN FUCKIN' BOLTON!!!!

All the Plan B pills, pipelines, wars; All of them have to be, must be, IMHO, forgotten because of the above, I hate it, I don't want to vote for someone does shit that is not progressive but-----

John Bolton, I GOTTA go the other way... I have too... John Bolton!!!! No thanks

You intended to vote third party or stay home, but now you feel compelled to vote to re-elect Obama?

43. No, I have always intended to vote for the prez again...
I guess I am talking to all the "primary him" people here. The idea of staying home or voting for a third party candidate is just stupid if you care about progressive causes. Like I said, Plan B pills, Keystone, and other disappointments will NEVER make me act against my own self interest. I want him to do ALL the progressive things he can do but I am a realist and know that sometimes I will be sad about one position or another this president takes. But to stay home or vote for a third party candidate has never entered my mind. That is how we got Shrub, thanks to Ralph Nader!!!

I have always felt compelled to vote for Obama and will, early and often

Senate. There is NO way he could be confirmed unless the Republicans gain many seats in the Senate - and Gingrich wins.
