Items Stolen From Marine Unit En Route To Fallujah
The Third Platoon Medical and Logistics Marine Unit en route to Fallujah was ambushed last month and insurgents stole the vehicles carrying all of their footlockers.

The thieves stole personal items including hygiene products, socks and shoes, CD's and CD players.

If you would like to make a donation to the service members, you can locally through "Operation We Remember".

Just drop items off an any Circle Storage facility.

They will make sure your donation gets to the troops.

The Red Cross has put out a request for the public to help support our troops also.

Many military families often find international phone calls can kill their budgets.

The Red Cross needs donations of phone, gas and grocery cards to give to troops and their families.

3. Yes, they're the thieves...
They made off with toilet paper and socks.

Meanwhile, we're making off with their country. Hell, I'd call it a fair trade. :eyes:

13. Having lived in that part of world and used the toilets I can see
why they are mad about the toilet paper. But toilet paper for a country is really a good deal. Is Ken Lay in on this?

6. It's absolutely disgusting that
the billions of money we have allocated for this war is not enough to properly outfit our troops or refit them when they have been robbed of personal belongings. We expect them to die or get maimed at the behest of this country, but cannot supply them with socks or toothpaste, or soap? There isn't a word in the English language strong enough to convey how I feel about this total lack of love and consideration for our soldiers.

7. Perhaps it's "faith-based" logisitics - as in "god will provide - "
When soldiers need TP, socks, water, or body armor. Prayer is the answer.

10. Water Shortage Works to Chaplain's Advantage
http://www.twincities.com/mld/twincities/news/world/5571730.htm?1c

Posted on Sun, Apr. 06, 2003
CAMP BUSHMASTER, Iraq - In this dry desert world near Najaf, where the Army V Corps combat support system sprawls across miles of scabrous dust, there's an oasis of sorts: a 500-gallon pool of pristine, cool water.

It belongs to Army chaplain Josh Llano of Houston, who sees the water shortage - which has kept thousands of filthy soldiers from bathing for weeks - as an opportunity.

"It's simple. They want water. I have it, as long as they agree to get baptized," he said.

12. Sick SOB
That guy is an example of everything that is wrong with evangelical religion. He is the reason I have refused to set foot inside a church since I was 16. This is thoroughly disgusting.

From the article:

He calls himself a "Southern Baptist evangelist," and justifies the war and killing with a verse from the Gospel of Matthew, which he often recites: "Give unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's and unto God the things that are God's."

"This means we are called upon by our government to fight and that is giving unto Caesar, as the Bible tells us," he said.

There ya have it.

I will not fight your holy war, slime.

23. Worse than that....
It's "privatization" of the logistical services. Given the choice between prayer and Halliburton, I'd take prayer...

:scared:

15. This sounds like a scam. No such unit.
Third Platoon Medical and Logistics Marine Unit?
Give me a break.

First, Marines don't have "Medical Units". We use Navy Corpsmen.

Second, I don't think ANY service (including the Navy) has a "Medical and Logistics" unit. The nomenclature of the whole things sounds like B.S.

This smells like a scam.

16. Agreed, the only time I ever saw a footlocker was in training
bootcamp/mct all that crap.

Second, logistical platoons don't travel alone, and they don't need to be on the front lines.

You're right about the medical split.

It's either really shitty reporting, or a scam.

17. This scam is probably being run by a
subsidiary of Haliburton. Some clever junior exec. came up with a great idea how to get even more money out of the 'rubes'. Next they'll be hitting the grammer schools for lunch money.
