Drudge - New abuse photos to be released, bizarre fetish acts by troops

The pictures obtained by The Post include shots of soldiers simulating sexually explicit acts with one another and shots of a cow being skinned and gutted and soldiers posing with its severed head. There are also dozens of pictures of a cat's severed head....

Other photographs show wounded men and dead bodies. In one, a dead man is lying in the back of a truck, his shirt, face and left arm covered in blood. His right arm is missing. Another photograph shows a dead body, gray and decomposing. A young soldier is leaning over the corpse, smiling broadly and giving the "thumbs-up" sign.

And in another picture a young woman lifts her shirt, exposing her breasts. She is wearing a white band with numbers on her wrist, but it is unclear if she is a prisoner.

Torturing animals often precedes torturing humans. Perhaps some desensitization process is necessary for many people.

I believe this is one of the reasons that some people have a knee jerk reaction against all talk of "animal rights" - any society that takes animal rights seriously would naturally take human rights very seriously indeed. It might lead to democratic socialism or something equally frightening, maybe even universal health care. Conversely, maintaining brutality towards animals makes it easier to maintain brutality and oppression against humans.

three months ago, written by Tucker Carlson, about the "contractors" in Iraq. (Carlson can be an ass, but he is a good writer.) He described one guy in particular that seemed to be a friend to all the stray cats in the area. The guy explained that when he got there, the others would get their amusement by torturing the stray cats. He warned them that if he saw any of them harming a cat, he would shoot them. Apparently they believed him, and the cats got a friend.
