Iraq war was about oil - Saudi envoy
DUBLIN (Reuters) - The U.S.-led invasion of Iraq was a colonial war and there were some in the United States who saw it as a means of getting their hands on Iraqi oil, a senior Saudi ambassador has been quoted as saying.

Prince Turki al-Faisal, ambassador to Britain and Ireland, told Monday's Irish Independent that Washington's stated aims in going to war in Iraq masked a more cynical reality.

Israel seeks pipeline for Iraqi oil

US discusses plan to pump fuel to its regional ally and solve energy headache at a stroke

April 20, 2003

Plans to build a pipeline to siphon oil from newly conquered Iraq to Israel are being discussed between Washington, Tel Aviv and potential future government figures in Baghdad.

--snip--

Now, its resurrection would transform economic power in the region, bringing revenue to the new US-dominated Iraq, cutting out Syria and solving Israel's energy crisis at a stroke.

It would also create an end less and easily accessible source of cheap Iraqi oil for the US guaranteed by reliable allies other than Saudi Arabia - a keystone of US foreign policy for decades and especially since 11 September 2001.

Edited on Mon May-24-04 05:59 PM by Just Me
Oh, PUH-LEASE. The PNAC plan was known to the whole freakin' world (except the majority of American people).

WHAT!!!! They (the Sauds) didn't get the part that they were gonna get either "a piece of the action" or "screwed" by the neocons?

Personally, I hope all the big players who have been using the rest of the people as pawns,...get screwed,...each and everyone of them.
