Iraqi Foreign Minister Off to UN, Seeks Sovereignty (Zebari)

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshiyar Zebari will head to New York on Tuesday to press for his country to be granted "full sovereignty" in a new United Nations resolution, a senior ministry official told Reuters.

"We'll be pushing very hard for that," the official said, without detailing whether Iraq was seeking amendments to the draft resolution presented to the Security Council by the United States and Britain, the main occupying powers.
