Kerry's Wife Criticizes Iraq War
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20040602/ap_on_el_pr/heinz_kerry_iraq&cid=694&ncid=1473

CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Teresa Heinz Kerry criticized President Bush (news - web sites) on Wednesday, arguing that his push to invade Iraq (news - web sites) "exacerbated, out of control, terrorism around the world" while alienating allies.

"The option was to do the job and finish Afghanistan (news - web sites), and then build a coalition to combat terrorism," the wife of Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry (news - web sites) told relatives of servicemembers.

Heinz Kerry said the focus now should be on ending the fighting and bringing the troops home with honor.

"We don't want them to come back feeling like their effort was in vain," she said. "We don't want them to come back feeling like all they did was 'destroy a country.'"

6. Their effort will not have been in vain IF. .. . . .
. . . . the US and the world learns a lesson from the horrible horrible mistake that the booshies dragged us all into.

If one believes that the only things that can be gained are material things, then it may in fact be that many good men and women died for nothing. But if one believes that out of tragedy can come wisdom, then perhaps there will have been something, some tiny bit, to have come out of all this insanity.

9. I'm with ya' Tansy_Gold.
From tragedy, springs hope and wisdom.

We must remember how far in front of the curve we have been on this one compared to the tragedy of Vietnam.

We have done far better in face of this tragedy. We really have done so much better.

5. I was lucky enough to see her speak in D.C. Y'all are going to
love her. She is totally down to earth...a doctor's daughter from Africa, so she saw poverty first hand. She is a big environmentalist. She believes in helping people, especially in Africa. She is very articulate, with an eloquent vocabulary; basically Georgie Porgie would not understand a word she says...not only because of her smarts, but also because she cares in a realistic way. I can hardly wait; she is no shrinking violet like Laura Bush. She is her on woman; I am sure Kerry listens to her.

10. She is definitely a woman all women (and men) can embrace.
She's intelligent, compassionate, down-to-earth, articulate.

She is an "American Dream" in her own right.

12. Don't worry
Before it is all over she will be mentally ill, a slut, hypocrite, bla bla bla bla.

But I think Bush has fucked up enough that even the negative propaganda will fail.

13. From what I've seen thus far, Teresa has the moxie ...
to call Bush to a Showdown...

She'd turn him upside down with just a few words,
like ketchup on freedom fries.

A sure way to battle terrorism?

They can look to your husband who voted to send them there.

21. well... it ain't like Laura's in the poor house herself...
somehow she managed a luxury condo on a "teacher"'s salary...

I dont think the tale of George & Laura is a Cinderella story. She's got enough bucks behind her to manage to get no investigation for manslaughter.

Edited on Thu Jun-03-04 07:24 AM by Postman
we're gonna base policy on "how the troops feel"?

Get them the hell out of there, now!

Would you be hemming and hawwing about how the troops would feel if it were your own son there?

22. About Theresa Heinz-Kerry
http://www.johnkerry.com/about_teresa/

Speaks five languages, fluently. I never realized that Theresa was this active throughout her life. This is amazing.

when Laura was asked what she does by her future mother-in-law, she said she smoked and read books. When, as First Lady, she was asked what she is going to do when she was preparing for a trip (vacation) to Europe (on our money) she said "eat and shop" :eyes:
