A Deadly Kennedy 'Nemesis'? (Onassis implicated in Bobby Kennedy's death)
June 3

CBS) When author Peter Evans published his first biography of Aristotle Onassis in 1986, he thought he'd left no stone unturned until a close friend of Onassis told the author he had missed the real story.

Many years and countless hours of interviews and investigation later, Evans has written "Nemesis," in which he uncovers Aristotle Onassis' alleged involvement in the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy.

Evans tells The Early Show it wasn’t until a meeting with Christina Onassis that he found out what the real story was.

He says, “It wasn’t for another couple of years. I was having lunch with Christina Onassis and she said that her father had been inadvertently involved in a situation that was disturbing her. The situation was this, that he had paid the PLO - a man named Mahmoud Hamshari (who later became a figure in Black September, the terror group responsible for the massacre of 11 Israeli athletes at the 1972 Munich Olympics) - a great deal of money to protect his planes (Olympic Airways) in ‘68 when planes were being blown out of the sky by terrorists, and some of the money had been used to finance the assassination of Bobby Kennedy. She was afraid this would get out in a bad way because her father was innocent. And would I do something to make sure that the truth was told. I said fine and I started my investigation.”

But as he investigated the matter, Evans writes in the book, he found that Onassis did know that this money was going to the assassination of Bobby Kennedy....>>

1. That fits well with reports that Jackie

Kennedy had an affair with RFK after JFK was killed. Allegedly, Bobby was helping and consoling his brother's widow and young children and one thing led to another. Ari saw his chance to get rid of a rival for Jackie's affections.

Wasn't the consensus that Jackie married Ari for protection?

2. Wow! Ari seduced Jackie BEFORE Dallas?

Ari-Jackie affair would have ended her marriage if a bullet hadn't?

Bobby said Jackie would marry Ari "over his dead body"?

Sounds like just celebrity dish, but how different history might have been if RFK had not been killed. . . JFK's marriage ending in scandal might have changed history, too.

6. i like your sig line
SIC SEMPER TYRANNIS! To get the full effect, show the VA flag. It has a hot woman standing over the body of a tyrant, sticking him with a spear and reading "Ever thus to Tyrants." Definitely the coolest state flag (no flames please ;) )

5. The book sounds like a good "beach read," though. Lite Politics after
what we've all been through here on DU since the "Selection." A bit of good old nostalgic gossip with sinister undertones where at least you knew who the charaters were and they had some glamour.
