3. Anusol May Ease Pressure on Hemorrhoids
Poor John Zogby ... a Republican pollster cursed with a terrible case of ethics!

Sorry, Johnny, Anusol can't help you there.

17. John Zogby's a Democrat, and most agree he's the best pollster out there -
just because you don't like the results doesn't mean it's the fault of the pollster.

And yes, I know he gives more weight to Republicans, but that's 'cause they tend to vote more.

18. I thought he was a Republican
Certainly not a neo-Con, but a Republican.

His brother, Jim, is a GOP bigwig here in Pennsylvania.

Is he really a Democrat? I've heard he was GOP since the mid-90s when his polling began to lead the pack in accuracy.

2. Geez what do they like this guy for?
I thought Iraq was supposed to be his best issue according to his supporters. Now his approval on that is lower than his regular approval! What's going on? I realize it could be two overlapping "strong" issues that could make this happen but come on!

14. At This Point Bush*'s Strong Point is the Fundie Vote
The Fundies will all vote for him, come Hell or high water.
That is at least 29% of the total (some claim as high as 42%
but we desperately hope that they are wrong).

9. It's just statistical noise
That's all folks. Nothing to worry about.

It's a mistake to read so much into every little fluctuation.

8. Good news, but let's wait a week
We have to wait a week to see how much, if any, damage is done due to a "Reagan effect".

10. The undecideds are up in this poll
Bush has not experienced any bump in his match up numbers against John Kerry. He was at 42% the last time. However the undecideds are up 3 or 4 points. This is to be expected. People still don't know a lot about John Kerry, but I think after he chooses a running mate and has the convention he will experience a big bump in the polls. And yes, the undecideds usually do break for the challenger.

13. The numbers for Bush and Kerry are the same
Kerry still leads by 2. Interestingly enough, Nader only seems to take away votes from the undecideds in this poll. By the way, the new Gallup poll has Kerry up by 6 points. Although I trust Zogby more than Gallup, that is truly amazing because Gallup has always had a pro-Bush slant to it.

16. Easy
A lot of people who would consider themselves pro-choice, or friendly to the evironment, are woefully uninformed about what's really going on in the world.

They take administation reports of pollution reduction at face value, and don't see any serious attacks on Roe v Wade coming out of the WH, so they feel comfortable with not much positive change in exchange for the big daddy who will "stop the terraists that are trying to kill us and destroy freedom."

I think a lot of people who would identify themselves as progressive or liberal think that trees are nice, and poor people should have food, and racism is bad and don't think any more about what's going on other than what they are being spoon fed from the politicos and the media.

22. We're just coming out of the first turn
there's a long way to go yet. It appears to me that after the st.ronnie bounce the chimp* has nowhere to go but down, there's not a damn thing he can do in the time left to him, there isn't time for a miraculous economic recovery, and I believe the U.N. will continue to snub him.
Let's keep grinding and worry about numbers in September.
