Ashcroft: 'This administration rejects torture'
http://www.cnn.com/2004/LAW/06/08/prisoner.abuse.whitehouse.ap/index.html

No mention of "contempt of congress" in the article - losers.

To me the highlight of the hearings today was his refusal to provide requested memo's with no legal support for his position. The threats of "contempt of congress" by several senators was a very significant story - how could they not include that??? :puke:

I'll just have to send the transcripts to all everyone I know myself.

1. Because Uncle Karl didn't want them to include it
One call to a Bushevik Mole or Infiltrator in the CNN Editorial Department, and it was done.

2. they do not reject it...
...they ask for exemption from international laws barring it. That is not rejecting torture. Quite the contrary...

3. I heard part of it on the car radio
I totally agree that the contempt issue around those torture memos was the big story. Also, he refused to say if the president had issued any orders about interrogations. He only kept repeating that the president never ordered anyone to break the law or disreagard the Constitution. But he kept avoiding the answer to this question about orders regarding interrogations. (So clearly the answer was "yes.")
