Iraqi Police Tell U.S. Troops -- Get Out of Town
FALLUJA, Iraq (Reuters) - Iraqi police in Falluja threatened to resign on Thursday unless the U.S. forces that trained them left town, saying the presence of American troops endangered their lives.
More than 100 members of the new U.S.-backed force protested in the town about 50 km (30 miles) west of Baghdad after their police station and a municipality building came under attack overnight by guerrillas firing rocket-propelled grenades.

There were no reported casualties.

"We have the ability to protect these sites," said Riyadh Abdel-Latif, the town's police chief. "The presence of Americans endangers us. We asked the Americans more than a month and a half ago to leave Falluja."

The protesters handed a petition to the mayor and U.S. commander in the town, saying they would resign in 48 hours if American troops did not leave.

1. Damn unappreciative Iraqis
They should be cheering their great white liberators, who slaughtered an estimated 10 thousand of their civilian neighbors and left them without water, electricity, jobs and any civil infrastructure, which, of course will all be paid for with their oil, tended to by Vice President Cheney's buddies.

It's a great day to be an American.

2. They should check to see if the US troops
have proper immigration papers and if they don't they should arrest their asses.

6. Our troops would be happy to be deported, or most of them.

3. This is so insane
How can anyone not see where this is headed? Who really thinks things are going to get better in Iraq? Why is no one asking about the exit strategy?

Far be it from me to expect the press to enforce any kind of moral or humanitarian standard on the White House. But shouldn't someone at some point ask them WHAT THE FUCKING PLAN IS?!?!?!?!?!?

Sorry, I'm feeling loud this morning.

5. Captured intact yes ...
... but they are sabotaged as well. Currently oil production runs at about 1/7th of the pre-war amount.
