Cheney: Saddam had strong al-Qaida ties

Well, Dick is at it again. It's obvious to me that Cheney's job is to keep the "base" in line by repeating lies that they believe -- Saddam had WMD's, he was working on nukes, he and Osama were friends, etc. All this has been disproved, of course, and Cheney KNOWS he's lying, but they have to keep that core freeper ignorant support.

Cheney: Saddam had strong al-Qaida ties
VP repeats long-standing position, but offers no new evidenceThe Associated Press

Updated: 7:56 a.m. ET June 15, 2004ORLANDO, Fla. - Vice President Dick Cheney said Monday that Saddam Hussein had “long-established ties” with al-Qaida, an assertion that has been repeatedly challenged by some policy experts and lawmakers.

The vice president offered no details backing up his claim of a link between Saddam and al-Qaida.

“He was a patron of terrorism,” Cheney said of Hussein during a speech before The James Madison Institute, a conservative think-tank based in Florida. “He had long established ties with al-Qaida.”

In making the case for war in Iraq, Bush administration officials frequently cited what they said were Saddam’s decade-long contacts with al-Qaida operatives. They stopped short of claiming that Iraq was directly involved in the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the United States, but critics say Bush officials left that impression with the American public.

Edited on Tue Jun-15-04 10:32 AM by fdr_hst_fan
graduate of the Josef Goebbels School of Creative Propaganda, i.e. if you tell a big lie loud enough and often enough, people will begin to believe it; that's how 80 million Germans were conned into supporting the Nazis! Read your history-it's all there in black, white and blood-red!

5. Amazing..........he knows he's lying, but doesn't give a rats ass
In all my life, I have never seen an administration that has lied and misled the public as much as this corrupt group that's currently in the White House. These monsters have to be defeated in November....I shudder to think what will happen to our country and the rest of the world, if they are re-elected.

11. What did Saddam do for Cheney?
Cheney must have been close with Saddam, otherwise why would he be turning on him, like the rat that he is.
