Fast-food chain(Mickey D's) sued in fatal car crash
McDonald's is accused of denying benefits for a worker killed during a probationary period.

As if you needed another reason to avoid this carcinogen factory. Heartless.

1. "Twice her annual Salary"?
I am amazed. Normally the drill is to pay the money and then spend millions on a cynical add campaign to say how nice they are.

4. McDonald's takes this very seriously...
Yeah like they don't have insurance to cover this.

All I can say is "CORPORATE SLIME" the money they save is nothing in terms of percentage loss, what is the percentage loss to the kids who lost their parent??????????????????

With every intention of shaming their parents as well as the simple minded asses that thought this up...BASTARDS.

6. Failure to show good faith...
Cynthia A. Molino, a mother of four, had worked for McDonald's for two years, but the federal lawsuit alleges that the company denied death benefits because she had just been promoted to manager and had not yet completed a 90-day probationary period.

The family said it had asked McDonald's to consider an alternative: Pay the death benefits due a regular employee, given Molino's two years of service before she became a manager.

McDonald's declined, the family said in its lawsuit.

In this case, I find it hard to believe that McDonald's has a legal leg to stand on... She had been their employee for two years, ergo, she was not on probation as an employee, she was on probation as a manager.

McDonald's was stupid not to accept the family's willingness to accept the lower insurance payout. It is very possible that a jury will award considerably more to the family since McDonald's clearly has failed to show good faith.

7. Everyone should boycott these morons.
Too much toxic sludge in the blood has seriously hampered brain activity at their headquarters.

Molino and her coworkers were killed after Nastasi's Cadillac DeVille, moving as fast as 110 m.p.h., roared off Prospect Ridge Boulevard, crossed the Black Horse Pike, became airborne, smashed through a children's play area at the restaurant, plowed through the dining room, and landed in the kitchen.

According to authorities, Nastasi told detectives in a taped statement at the hospital that he "pushed the accelerator to the floor and drove directly into the McDonald's."

Does dealing daily in death make one indifferent to suffering?

8. Most companies--I believe--do not consider a promotion cause for
putting someon back on probation.

Sounds like a Wal-Mart stunt to me.

I mean, how much can this woman have made? Twice the annual salary is probably not much.
