Jenna Bush's bodyguards rumble in Spain

MADRID, Spain -- Bodyguards for President Bush's daughter were entangled in a fist fight with two men trying to steal a cell phone in southern Spain, a U.S. Embassy official said Tuesday.

The fight happened last Thursday while Jenna Bush was vacationing with some friends in the coastal city of Tarifa, continental Europe's southernmost point and a famous destination for wind surfers, embassy spokesman John Law said.

The 22-year-old Bush was sitting at a hotel terrace when two men tried to steal a cell phone on a nearby table. Law said it wasn't clear to whom the cell phone belonged, but Bush's bodyguards reacted immediately.

One secret service agent punched one of the suspects in the mouth, Law said, adding that he had no other details of the altercation.

In true Spanish style the night life in Tarifa is as good as it gets. There is no shortage of good restaurants, pick-up disco bars and pubs and the after hours clubs will waste you right into the morning. Your sole dilemma will be whether to be tempted by the wicked offerings of the night or lead a more healthy day life.

What the heck, if you are young and health go for both, isn’t this the holiday of your lifetime after all!

You will find that these vices come relatively cheap too.

And--about the Reagan funeral--I'm not surprised they didn't interrupt their vacation to attend. However, their Grandpa's birthday celebration had been planned for a long time. They missed that, too.

Why would anyone think that she would press charges? What charges?? Stealing someone else's phone?? Interupting the royal afternoon??

Unless she has so many SS guards around her that some of them are "spares" why did any of them get involved other than getting her out of the way? And if the situation was so confusing that no one still knows what was going on, what's the deal with the punch?
