WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Army is bringing murder charges against a soldier who fatally shot at close range an Iraqi man who already was badly wounded in a vehicle after a high-speed chase in Iraq (news - web sites), officials said on Wednesday.

2. More scapegoating.
Not to justify what the soldier did but for a defense official to sit behind a desk and claim that "soldiers don't get to make those kinds of decisions" is sheer hypocrisy of the highest order. They didn't make the decision to be sent into the senseless war either. Those decisions are being handed down by men who sit safely in air-conditions 'war rooms' thousands of miles away, who in many cases have never tasted the horrors of real combat.

I'm not going to judge that soldier's actions since I don't know enough about the situation, but the bottom line is he never should have been put in that position in the first place.

This will only serve to increase the hatred of BushCo within the military.
