Power grid operator raises hurdele to power line plan
Friday June 18, 2004
NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (AP) A snag has developed in the plans to upgrade power lines from Middletown to Norwalk because the operator of New England's power grid will not support plans to put some of the lines underground.

A top executive for ISO-New England told the state Siting Council Thursday that the grid operator will not support current plans to bury lines from Norwalk to Stratford.

``ISO-New England cannot accept this, period,'' Stephen Whitley, chief operating officer of the Holyoke, Ma.-based agency that operates the electric gird in the six-state region.

2. I lived in Alaska and lots of lines are under ground. Was nice.
I also grew up in a house that had it's lines underground as the man who built the place in the 20's was a big wig in NY state power co. He wanted it that way. I would think this the way to go.
