Bush opposes U.S.-only Homeland Security bids
The Bush administration is opposing a provision in a U.S. House bill that bars companies based in overseas tax havens such as Tyco International Ltd. from competing for Homeland Security contracts, saying it could violate World Trade Organization rules and other agreements. Tyco, Ingersoll Rand Co. and Accenture Ltd. are among companies incorporated in countries such as Bermuda and the Cayman Islands that may be excluded from bidding on Homeland Security contracts. On Tuesday, Republican leaders removed from the bill a provision revoking existing deals such as a $10 billion contract awarded June 1 to Accenture, though House Democrats failed in efforts to block the Accenture contract Friday.

2. Oh, now they want to listen to the world community?
Isn't that handy that in this instance it helps their rich big business friends? For God's sake, this is the least we can do to punish those Cayman Islands tax evader types.

"saying it could violate World Trade Organization rules and other agreements."

9. apparently he is very concerned with what the international
community thinks now.????? I really don't think he gives a rats ass about international thought as you said. He is worried about not being able to give contracts to offshore companies....I am sure there alot more companies in line waiting to get the contracts.. that work off-shore, and Bush is the steward for such companies of course that depends on how much they gave his administration in camp. contributions... it's all relative to that. He should really call his administration what it is a Money Pit.
