Report: Accused Priests Shuffled Worldwide
*sigh*

DALLAS (AP) -- An international movement of Roman Catholic priests out of countries where they have been accused of abusing children has continued even after the abuse scandal that swept the U.S. church in 2002, The Dallas Morning News found in a yearlong investigation.

...

The priests lead parishes, teach and continue to work in settings that bring them into contact with children, despite church claims to the contrary, the newspaper said.

...

In one case, the Rev. Frank Klep, a convicted child molester who has admitted abusing one boy and is wanted on more charges in Australia, was placed in Apia, Samoa, in the South Pacific. Australia has no extradition treaty with Samoa.

Klep told the newspaper that neither he nor the church feels an obligation to tell anyone about his past. Few, if any, locals are aware of his history.

1. They always move priests
around to other parishes whenever there's a complaint about them, nothing new.

2. The Roman Catholic hierarchy
has presided over the biggest pedophile ring in the world.

And they are getting stuffy about people who are PRO CHOICE?

Can you say, "hypocrisy???"

3.  The Catholic Church is a protection racket for child rapists
and now they are meddling in politics, no fucking shame.

8. Actually, the Catholic Church...
is an old hand at meddling in politics, all the way back to the Middle Ages when kings were crowned by the Pope and on up through the twentieth century when the Vatican cut a deal with Mussolini that wound up legitimising his rule in the eyes of many Italians.

The Church is, probably, the wealthiest and certainly one of the most powerful institutions on the planet, but the attitude within the Church is that it's a law unto itself and that any priest who does wrong is subject only to the Church's jurisdiction, and not to the civil authorities. And we see how that's worked out...

4. the "church" is more worried about
womens bodies and "gay marriage" than the putrid stench of the rotting corpse of their morality.

7. They should forget the "pelvic issues" and work on the
"spiritual issues".

5. There's a world-wide shortage of priests -
so it's better to hang on to the ones they've got and shuffle
them around when necessary, than allow priests to marry, or
(horrors!) ordain women.

Sometimes I find it very hard to find the link between the Church
hierarchy and the teachings of Christ.
