Kerry Embracing Clinton's Economic Record
WASHINGTON - A majority of Americans harbor bad feelings toward Bill Clinton, but he's no longer the political pariah Al Gore made him out to be four years ago. Unlike Gore, the 2000 Democratic presidential nominee, John Kerry is embracing the former president's economic record and taking action to capitalize on his popularity among minorities. And he's doing it without fear of alienating moderate voters.

Even Republicans concede that the former president isn't a drag on the Democratic ticket. The political phenomena known as "Clinton fatigue" seems to have run its course.

"Kerry was never part of the Clinton administration or the Clinton entourage in the way Gore was, so any ill-will lingering toward Clinton won't rub off on Kerry," said Republican pollster Whit Ayres.

An Associated Press poll of 1,000 adults from Friday through Sunday revealed that 41 percent hold a favorable view of Clinton and 53 percent think unfavorably of him.

1. I'm starting to Love this guy!
He's smart enough to know he doesn't have to reinvent the wheel and isn't a prideful man refusing to take help from someone who was faced with the same problems, thanks to Bush I..

2. OTOH-

The Hypocrisy is staggering:

President George W. Bush holds a group discussion at the Hamilton County Alcohol Drug Addiction Services Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, June 21, 2004. Campaigning in the battleground state of Ohio, Bush sought to portray his domestic agenda as compassionate and aligned himself with a welfare measure enacted under Democratic President Bill Clinton.

4. That WaPo poll has Clinton's APPROVAL rating at 62 percent
The problem with Gore is, he ran away from Clinton's record, too, which was dumb.

6. Yep, Gore mistakenly distanced himself from BC
and encapsulated himself in a bubble.

Faced with the same situation,
I can't see JK running from a fight.

During election 2000, Gore held the people
in the palm of his hand. Voters would have
taken to the streets in a heartbeat to
support him..He just threw it all away..
