American soldiers (two) killed in attack north of capital
Baghdad, Iraq-AP -- U-S military officials in Iraq report two American soldiers are dead in an ambush north of Baghdad.

A military statement says gunmen hit a military convoy, killing the two and wounding another soldier. The mid-day small arms attack happened near Balad (BEHL'-ihd) -- about 50 miles from Baghdad.
