Heinz Kerry Agrees She Married Well

MIAMI - Complimented on her choice of a husband, Teresa Heinz Kerry said Tuesday she married well — "both times." The wife of Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry made the comments during a three-day campaign trip through Florida in which she praised her husband's economic proposals, including an increase in the federal minimum wage to $7 an hour by 2007.

Heinz Kerry, the heir to the $500 million Heinz fortune, said her work on charitable causes in her home town of Pittsburgh helped her gain insight to economic development issues. Her first husband, Sen. John Heinz, R-Pa., died in a 1991 plane crash. Among those in attendance was former Rep. Carrie Meek, mother of current Rep. Kendrick Meek, D-Fla., who complimented Heinz Kerry on her life decisions.

"I'd just like to say to you — you married well," Meek said. Heinz Kerry married the Massachusetts senator in 1995.

"Both times," Heinz Kerry responded to chuckles. "Both times."

wiles to the White House, i.e. she will not be rescinding any poetry invitations. She is quite a warm, caring woman with a mind of her own and the sophistication that comes from growing up with the African poverty surrounding her. She has been there and now does what she canto help. Hearing her speak convinced me that she will add mightily to our national and international personna.

Hillary knows what it's like. When Murdock is done with the revival of Lady Macbeth, she'll snap! She gives no quarter and she's only been a Democrat for a few months, after an adult life as a moderate Republican. Card-carrying...Kerry-carding...whatever. She's going to be an exotic and trippy First Lady and, sad to say, Rush's wrecking crew are going to chew her a new one. But she's got more dough than any of them and can fight fire with fire.
