Edited on Wed Jun-23-04 01:02 AM by dArKeR
BREAKING NEWS
The Associated Press

CAIRO, Egypt - An audio recording purportedly made by al-Qaida-linked militant Abu Musab al-Zarqawi and found online Wednesday threatened to assassinate the head of Iraq's interim government that takes over at the end of the month.

"As for you (Iyad) Allawi .... the democratically elected prime minister, ... you didn't know that you have survived already traps we made for you but we promise you that we will continue with you the game until the end," the online recording said.

"You are the symbol of evil and the infidel nation; you are the source of all traitors."

It was not possible to immediately authenticate the recording, but the voice sounded like al-Zarqawi.

1. Gee...talk about ambivalence.
The one-legged, risen-from-the-grave al-Zarqawi killing the U.S.-picked puppet Prime Minister of the Vichy Iraq government.

Uh, I don't have a dog in this fight. They can kill each other off, for all I care!

2. So the AP just forgets that al-Zarqawi isn't al-Quieda again?
Didn't they just run a story saying his connection to al-Quieda was wrong?

6. boy, they must have second-stringers writing his dialogue this season
that's absolutely pathetic. Why the heck would this terrorist mastermind-type call a CIA puppet "the democratically elected prime minister?"

12. He'd be doing us a favor. Allawi is a chalabi clone, if not even MORE
corrupt, covert and criminal; everything a Nazi American bush lover would adore.
