US launches airstrikes after beheading
The US military launched an airstrike on a suspected safehouse for followers of Jordanian-born militant Abu al-Zarqawi, hours after his group beheaded a South Korean hostage. The strike, the second such attack against Zarqawi's terror network in three days, killed at least three people and wounded nine others, according to a doctor at Fallujah Hospital. Residents of the restive Sunni Muslim city west of Baghdad said the strike hit a parking lot when it was launched late last night.

Zarqawi's Monotheism and Jihad movement was believed behind the beheading of 33-year-old Kim Sun-il after the South Korean government rejected the militants' demand to stop sending troops to Iraq.

South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun today condemned the slaying as a "crime against humanity" while reaffirming his government's plans to keep its 600 troops in Iraq and send 3,000 more by August despite Kim's slaying.

"I am very sorry and deeply regretful that this tragedy happened, although all the people and the government wished and prayed for the safe return of Mr Kim Sun-il," Roh said.

1. USA: 1 -- Parking Lot: 0
USA! USA! USA! USA!
:nuke: :nuke: :nuke:

I'm so proud of the wisdom in our White House, because I would never have guessed that bombing a Fallujah parking lot is the best way to avenge a murder in Saudi Arabia.

12. Yes
And in response bombed Falluja, an Iraqi city that is (in the eyes of the colonialists) a bit uppity.

Last time the Bushies bombed a "safehouse" in Falluja was over teh weekend when a couple of dozen Iraqi civilians were killed, but no Jordanian archterrorists.

2. al-Tawhid & translations
I think SMH (or whoever did this) makes a mistake in translating the group name as such. Literally correct, perhaps, but "Unity" is more proper. Which is a little ironic, considering what sort of words are put into Fadel's mouth by the head crusader propagandists.

4. Yup ... they sure are making sure we believe it.
"Zarqawi's Monotheism and Jihad movement was believed behind the
beheading of 33-year-old Kim Sun-il..."

And I absolutely love this gem:

"South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun today condemned the slaying as a 'crime against humanity' while reaffirming his government's plans to keep its 600 troops in Iraq and send 3,000 more by August despite Kim's slaying.

A war criminal preaching morality. The world needs an enema ...

5. The truth is
We don't really know WHO is behind these beheadings. The people who are standing with these victims all have so much head wrap on...and how come their hands always look so WHITE?

6. 3000 ROKs? Here comes trouble.
Republic of Korea troops were notorious during the Vietnam War, although their reputation may be exaggerated. There seems to be a general consensus that the ROK penchant for massive intimidation and retaliation kept the areas they controlled unusually quiet. This was no doubt related to the largely unchallenged rumors of extreme human rights abuses.

I think the media penetration (whether it be reporters or individuals with cameras, telephones, and Internet access) is too pervasive to allow the ROKs from getting away with such practices in Iraq. The real question is, do they give a shit about world opinion enough not to do it anyway?

13. Their training is preparing them for war crimes.
ROK troops have engaged in training regimens designed specifically to imbue an amoral world outlook and glorify meaningless slaughter of humans, whether man, woman or child.

7. Like the moves in kids fights. Your eye now mine.
Time to send in a teacher. I hope Kerry will be one. I guess fingers in the eye is fun for some. Looks like the same thing is going on in DC. TV comes out with some thing and WH comes back. Life has always been fun.

Forbidden under the Geneva Conventions.
