2. Since the US has always had this exemption in the past
exactly what does this mean? Can US fighter pilots be tried for war cromes when they were only following the orders of the Commander in Chief?

4. It means, gasp, that the US will have to live within international law or
suffer the consequences like everyone else for the first time! Way past time, imo.

3. Awesome!
The bush admin has been appropriately called "torturers" by the Security Council refusing to give them immunity. They may not have used the word but, by refusing to support the original resolution and the compromise, they are pointing an accusatory finger! Way to go, UN!!!

6. And on CNN...
They only had a couple short paragraphs.

I would think this would be a big story, but they don't seem to want to talk about it...

7. A diplomatic defeat, to be sure,
but don't get carried away.

Bush has still bullied 90+ nations into agreeing not to bring war crimes charges against US forces in their territory.

8. The list of 90 are the same ones that are part of the "coalition" of the
bribed, like Micronesia. None of the major countries have agreed to the US's thuggish threats.

9. Okay, we all know they have something up their sleeve....
Surely, they won't be bound my morality, propriety or, heaven forbid, international LAW, so what are they going to do?
How are they going to get around this?

10. They withdraw resolutions, then declare them by fiat
Like the Iraq War Resolution. They couldn't even get a tie (not even with intense blackmail, bribes and threats), so they pulled it and went ahead anyway. They are a despicable band of thieves and murderers.

11. Bush says, "Ignore me, while I torture again...!!!"
And apparently the UN is not going along with it this time.
