Jun 23, 12:33 PM (ET)

UNITED NATIONS (AP) - Facing strong opposition, the United States announced Wednesday it was dropping a resolution seeking a new exemption for American peacekeepers from international prosecution for war crimes.

NO more details yet, but this is quite interesting!

5. There was a lot more written on this yesterday. Apparently the U.S.
is proposing a shorter time frame for immunity (until next Spring), and claims to have convinced several nations to go along with it. Not sure we will know for sure until they vote on it next week.

6. The compromise resolution wasn't going to pass so the US has...
withdrawn the whole thing. The same nations that would abstain on the original proposed resolution on immunity didn't accept the compromise either.

7. Invaders=Peacekeepers
The US invades two countries and calls the troops Peacekeepers. Yep, we are in the world of "1984", 20 years later.

What is the US calling Torture? "Friendly Persuasion"?
