U.S. Military Deaths in Iraq - 842 U.S. service members have died

As of Wednesday, June 23, 842 U.S. service members have died since the beginning of military operations in Iraq (news - web sites) last year, according to the Defense Department. Of those, 622 died as a result of hostile action and 220 died of non-hostile causes.

Or "contractors" if we must. Nicest thing about 'em is that not only are they not covered by the UCMJ, they don't count when they die.

848 died within Iraq...does this include those that died in Afghanistan??? What is not reported are those that have died enroute to Military medical facilities or those that have died and dying in medical facilities due to their severe injuries.
