Bush Protesters Climb 700-Foot Power Plant Stack

MASONTOWN, Pa. -- Six Greenpeace activists climbed a smokestack at a coal-fired power plant in Greene County Wednesday morning and hung a large banner in protest of President George W. Bush's energy policy.

It's unclear how the activists were able to get onto the property and gain access to the smokestack. An Allegheny Power spokeswoman said the company is investigating.The protesters were still atop the tower as of 6 p.m. More than a dozen state police troopers were on the ground waiting to make trespassing arrests.
