Car bomb rocks Irbil
A car bomb has exploded in the Kurdish Iraqi city of Irbil, wounding and killing an unknown number of people, according to Aljazeera's correspondent.

Police said the bomb exploded near a ministry of culture building and a high school on a busy street in the northern city of Irbil, 350 km north of Baghdad, on Saturday.

A source in the Kurdish Democratic Party said a security guard for the former minister of culture in the Kurdish regional government was killed in the attack, while the former culture minister received minor wounds.

Separate sources said the bodyguard was in fact a senior official within the Kurdish security apparatus but this could not be immediately confirmed.

all those who think things will get worse in Iraq (and elsewhere)after the June 30 handover -- wave your arms...

2. Since 1992, at least Saddam was not bothering the Kurds
Now all hell is breaking lose all over Iraq. Makes me think it's not the Iraqis alone doing this.
