3. It Could Have Been Bigger
My Wife and I went to see it last night on the only screen showing it within 60 miles of where we were. We went to see the 7:05 show and it had sold out by 5:00 pm. The 9:30 show was also sold out so we went to see "The Terminal." There were many others who were turned away as we were.

Any others have similar experiences?

5. You know what this means, don't you?
Edited on Sat Jun-26-04 10:29 AM by Citizen Daryl
According to Box Office Mojo. $8.2 million on Friday on just 868 screens ($9,447 per screen). It's nearest competition was White Girls at $6.8 million on 2,726 screens ($2,480 per screen).

This means that if Fahrenheit 9/11 had been playing on as many screens as it's closest competitor, it would have earned $25.7 million dollars on opening night.

6. Look at the screen averages:
9400 compared to 2400

And people were turned away at my theater too.

9. Just as an FYI
Box Office Mojo's estimate #s are almost always spot-on. There's typically no more than a 5-7% deviation from the numbers posted.. in all honesty, often, the real numbers tend to skew up a bit from the estimates.
