Cheney Visits Pittsburgh July 4
Shall we greet him?

<http://www.postgazette.com/pg/04179/338360.stm>

Sunday, June 27, 2004
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

Vice President Dick Cheney's first bus tour of the 2004 campaign will bring him to Pittsburgh on the Fourth of July.

Cheney will appear at a 12:30 p.m. rally at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall in Oakland, the Bush-Cheney campaign said.

The Independence Day visit "highlights the importance of Pennsylvania and the Pittsburgh community to our campaign," spokeswoman Jennifer Millerwise said yesterday. She said Cheney would speak about "strengthening the economy, making our communities better and keeping America safe."

Joe Dugan, Soldiers & Sailors president and chief executive officer, said he met with a Cheney advance team Friday. Neither he nor Millerwise immediately could say whether the event would be open to the public or only by invitation.

In the first stop on his bus tour, Cheney is scheduled to speak at 11 a.m., Saturday in Parma, Ohio. His next scheduled stop will be at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Wheeling Park High School in Wheeling, W.Va.

Millerwise said other stops were possible. Dugan said Cheney's aides expressed interest in having him stop at a Pittsburgh restaurant to "meet the people."

I think the last sentence really should read... "to meet the (carefully selected sheeple who look good in a carefully posed photo setting with Lon Chainey himself- who somehow is showing enough restraint not to bare his fangs) people."

11. My guess would be Station Square.
Downtown Duquesne Club way too restricted for traffic. Can you just see a bus and entaurage vehicles all parked in front of the Club?

Station Square has the parking andcan be classy enough for him.

12. Please greet Vice-President Fuck accordingly.
Those of you in western Pennsylvania, pull your weight. You're a crucial swing state.

Show him the greeting he deserves! :)

14. On a Sunday?
Shouldn't he be in church, trying to kiss up to the religious right?
Campaigning on a Sunday.....he should burn in hell for that. No time for religion when you have an election to win.....

15. Um.. seriously....
I would like to be out to greet the man, with at least a placard and a few choice words. It would work much better if I weren't alone, though. Is anyone planning anything yet? Or should we start planning now?
