FBI warns of possible deadly floating material
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The FBI issued a warning last week for state and local authorities to be on the lookout for booby-trapped floating material in and around the nation's marinas, warning they could contain explosives.

But...

A homeland security official told CNN on Sunday there is "no intelligence terrorists are planning to or want to do this."

Full, non-story here.

:boring:

Hey, FBI... why not just publish a list of every, single, possible way that terrorists could hide a bomb, then warn us about them all in one shot! Here... I'll start!

The FBI issued a warning last week for state and local authorities to be on the lookout for booby-trapped:

1. toilet seats in public restrooms
2. cigarette vending machines
3. laundry-mat detergent dispensers
4. pay phones
5. shrubbery
6. mail boxes
7. trash dumpsters
8. lumber yards
9. milk cartons
10. soda cans

No royalties or credit necessary.

2. Just like in F9/11
Keep us scared. The credibility of the threat doesn't matter - just get it out there and get people worried about it.

14. Me too! They might contain anthrax. Just today I was with a friend and we
spotted two women wearing head scarves covering up suspicious short round cylindrical objects all over their heads. Could have been short sticks of dynamite, or vials of anthrax. And they were both wearing pink bedroom slippers that could have concealed ricin. The only way we can be safe in public is if all clothes are banned. Dimson has already come close to that in Ireland. Do you think he was floating a trial buffoon? If you think that I am joking, you could be right....but.....

Or perhaps water buffalo. That way the aquatic reference works.

Edited on Sun Jun-27-04 04:16 PM by DBoon
ARTHUR: Well, what is it you want?
HEAD KNIGHT: We want... a shrubbery!

ARTHUR: A what?
HEAD KNIGHT: Ni! Ni!
ARTHUR and PARTY: Oh, ow!
ARTHUR: Please, please! No more! We shall find a shrubbery.
HEAD KNIGHT: You must return here with a shrubbery or else you
will never pass through this wood alive!
ARTHUR: O Knights of Ni, you are just and fair, and we will
return with a shrubbery.

17. There is a $10,000,000.00 reward for this guy but I doubt anyone...
will be collecting it.

The boogeyman who is thought to be terrorizing the entire countries of Iraq and Saudi Arabia is either:

A: dead already
B: a figment of someone's imagination (CGI)

16. One should also be on the lookout for wayward WWII era...
parachute balloon bombs which Japan sent to our shores. One was last reported chasing Richard Branson in the jetsream.

Careful eyes should also be on the lookout for exploding rubber ducks and Nike sneakers which were last seen floating in the California current.
