DENVER - Democrat John Kerry is within striking distance of President Bush in Colorado - a state that tends to vote Republican in presidential elections.

While Kerry is trailing Bush by 5 percentage points in the state, according to a Denver Post poll, the slim margin reveals more about the president than his rival.

"This election is about the incumbent. Voters are asking, 'How is his performance? Does he deserve to be rehired?"' said Larry Harris, a director of Mason-Dixon Polling & Research Inc., which conducted the poll. "Right now, it looks like Bush is vulnerable in Colorado, and that spells opportunity for Kerry."

Bush is leading the state with 48 percent, while Kerry has support from 43 percent.

Six percent of those polled were undecided - enough to tip the election. Of those undecided, more were independents, without formal party ties, than Republicans or Democrats.

2. More good news for Kerry (and America)
more and more states that HAD been solidly Republican, are now considered competitive. Bad assed news for the m.f. Republicans

4. I don't think that CO
was ever consider safe gop.

Clinton won it in 92 and bush only got 50.75% of the vote there. Gore + Nader almost 48%.

11. Golden is 60% Dem
Pueblo is a strong Dem stronghold.

What is at play is the Western Slope.

Hope they watch F911.

8. MOST STATES will be in play for Kerry!!!

Kerry is untouchable in traditional liberal strongholds like New York and California. But Bush will find himself increasingly vulnerable in states that Republicans have long taken for granted. Moderate Republicans are starting to turn on Bush for his reckless policies.

The result of this is that Kerry can concentrate on the battleground states while Bush will have to fight on his backside to keep traditional Republican states from going Democratic!!!!

Bush may have to spend another 100 million just to prevent a Kerry landslide!!!!!

Mississippi is the ONLY state I think that Bush DOES NOT have to worry about!!!!!

9. We'd take a close win but an electoral landslide would be sweet
Keep up the pressure DUers. Wear those Kerry (or anti-Bush) stickers and signs proudly, donate time and money to the Dems, and take a different friend to see F 9/11 again.
