Poll: Bush, Kerry at Dead Heat in Florida
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=694&ncid=703&e=1&u=/ap/20040629/ap_on_el_pr/florida_poll

President Bush and Democratic challenger John Kerry are locked in a very close race in their battle for the 27 electoral votes in Florida, according to a new poll in the essential swing state of 2000.

Bush and Kerry had the backing of 43 percent apiece in a three-way matchup with independent Ralph Nader, who had the support of 5 percent in the telephone poll conducted by the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute of Connecticut.

Without Nader, Kerry had 46 percent and Bush 44 percent, within the poll's margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points. Voters were evenly split on having a favorable or unfavorable view of both Bush and Kerry, the poll found.

"Both Bush and Kerry have sharply polarized the Florida voters," Quinnipiac's Clay Richards said. "At this stage in the campaign, Florida voters don't like either of the candidates very much."

4. Something wrong with your "L"?
No, he's not on any ballot yet. And the Greens have chosen not to give him their endorsement, so that should make it harder for him, too.

6. Hard to figure him out
Nothing he's been doing lately has been rational.

Does anyone know what his chances of getting on the Florida ballot are?

8. One thing about the Naderites...
I've got a number of friends that like and support Ralph Nader here in FL. They say that they will always state their support for him in polls. However, in this election, they say they are actually going to vote for Kerry. I wonder how much of Nader's support will materialize on election day, especially if the race is close?

11. After 'ya put the 7.5% fudge factor on the numbers,
Kerry has a fairly healthy lead.

12. Nader hasn't gotten any good news lately
He says it doesn't matter that the Greens didn't endorse him, but that sounds disingenous because he picked Camejo, a well-known Green from CA, for his running mate just before the Green convention.

Then Nader criticized Michael Moore (who supported him in 2000) for being too fat on the weekend that F9/11 broke records. That sounded like Nader is bitter than Moore is supporting Kerry.

It seems that Nader is imploding.

Secrecy surrounds voter eligibility

http://www.tallahassee.com/mld/democrat/news/local/8699040.htm

"The state has identified 47,687 Florida voters - 1,671 in the Big Bend alone - as suspected felons possibly ineligible to vote. Who's on the list? It's hard to know, thanks to an unusual veil of secrecy."

to contest it.

We need to get our votes elsewhere. They can steal Florida.
They will steal Florida. They own Florida. It hardly matters
how many people actually try to vote for Kerry there.

19. Disenfranchisement is a comin'
quote: "Although Florida has about 300,000 more registered Democrats than Republicans, the only Democrats to carry the state in the last three decades are Jimmy Carter in 1976 and Bill Clinton (news - web sites) 20 years later. "

Of that 300,000 how many have already been purged?

22. i really don't understand why
anyone thinks FL is "in play." purges, voting machines, and JEB! (who was quoted as saying, "don't worry, we still have a few tricks up our sleeves" with respect to elections)- what chance do you think kerry really has?

these polls are for one purpose only: to keep the race viable as a source of tv and media revenue. the only way to do that it to make it appear close, and thus stories about them interesting. as F911 shows, there are many, many more people in our nation who hate bush than the media wants to admit. but once they admit it, then what do they have left to cover? a landslide for kerry (which would happen in a fair election) is only newsworthy when it happens.

and who here really believes that 5% of FL wants nader? really? he didn't even get that in 2000, we're supposed to believe he's more popular now??? these polls are rigged crap, and i'm tired of the attention they get.

FL is a lost cause, Jeb's made sure of that. let's focus on states we may actually win, NC is looking more and more in play these days for example.

24. FLA is in play because of 2000
Because of the purging, and that we on the left desperately want to prove that though Jeb can rig everything he wants, we'll still beat him.

And, FLA has a bunch of EC votes. Take FLA away from the 'pugs and another "red" state (like VA) and Bush is toast no matter what Diebold and Jeb's "list" has to say about things.

25. If everyone truely believes Florida will be stolen.... again...
Well I'm not sure what you could do, but if one believes in democracy then Bush should under no circumstances be allowed to steal this election.

As for the Poll I figure Kerry has a 10 point or more lead on Bush. Simply no way Bush could be running dead heat in just about any state.

20. If a poll says their dead even, the Florida is lost
If Bunnypants* and Kerry are ACTUALLY DEAD EVEN, then Bunnypants* will win the Touchscreen "Vote" by at LEAST 5%, possibly more.

It depends on how much they want to send a message to the Filthy Little Nobodies that there is nothing we can do and that our Superiors have restored their Kingly Power over the Filthy Little Nobodies once again.

I begin to wonder if Tyranny is not the "default" human condition, and we have lived our lives up until the End of the Old American Republic inside an aberration quickly lost, but one which we foolishly thought would last forever.
