Angry father stabs child molester

ALTA, Norway, June 30 (UPI) -- A confessed child molester was rushed to a Norwegian hospital after the enraged father of two children who were molested stabbed the perpetrator.

A month ago two children of a woman in Alta told her that a 72-year-old man had molested them, the Aftenposten reported Wednesday.

Police charged the 72-year-old with sexual abuse, and he recently admitted to the molestation in the local newspaper Altaposten. He also expressed regret.

Over the weekend, the victims' father, who lives in Oslo, travelled to Alta seeking revenge, police said.

In fact, I'm jumping for joy.:bounce::bounce::bounce::bounce::bounce::bounce:

The father should have cut off his hands and his penis.

Dirty ole bastard.

5. I understand why he did it.

I would possibly be capable of that type of extreme reaction as well. I would certainly be classified as 'temporarily insane' if some A*hole hurt my kids......I would just hope that friends and family would be able to reign me in.

...and I'm such a 'peacenik'.....

When it comes to my kids I am certainly a lioness.

7. I've often thought that as well...
It's not a pretty picture, seeing myself at least emotionally capable of physical violence. But if I caught someone abusing my children, they'd deeply regret it for the next 5 minutes they were alive.

Come to think of it, there'd be certain instances where the abuser of a child that wasn't mine would regret it.

8. Several years ago,
a fellow kidnapped and abused a boy from near Chicago. He was caught, and brought back through the airport. A news station was filming the creep being brought through by the police, when suddenly, the boy's father turned from a pay phone, and shot the creep. He did it at close range, so as to not injure anyone else. The creep died.

I worked at a mental health clinic for years. I've never heard of a surer way to make sure a perp doesn't reoffend. If a dog has rabies and poses a risk to my children, I'm not going to wring my hands and worry about if that rabid dog had a rough puppyhood. I'm going to take it behind the barn and make sure it doesn't offend again.

I really cannot condone murder on any grounds--states sanctioned, vigilante, or otherwise.

Crippling the bastard on the other hand is just aggravated assault...

While I don't condone the father's actions, I understand them completely and am not sure I wouldn't do the same. I do hope a jury understands that this is a unique set of circumstances and that the father is not a threat to society and gives him a probation/community service type sentence.

As for the slimeball abuser, it is a shame he didn't go to court and have to sweat out his last few days under the realization of what was in store for him.

19. How about making sure he gets "molested" every day by his cell mates.
I can't blame the father one bit.

15. No, he won't (sentence 3-5 years, serve max. 2-3 years)
To put it bluntly, no society ruled by law can ever accept such vigilante action. That's not to say that anybody disagrees with him, and you can bet the time he'll do will be worth it...

17. Convicted of killing the man who molested your children??
Even those in prison, or maybe especially those in prison, wouldn't hold that against you.

14. Cruel and Unusual
Aren't we progressives the ones who fight for due process when the right-wing lynch mobs lust for blood? Who among us would applaud a judge who sentenced a criminal to be stabbed as punishment? Sounds frighteningly like the Bush cabal's version of justice to me.

Not to say I wouldn't feel like stabbing the guy myself, it's just hard to reconcile the act (and its acceptance) with the idea of a civilized system of justice.
