Coors' stance on gays attacked

By Mark P. Couch
Denver Post Staff Writer

Post / Andy Cross
U.S. Senate candidate Pete Coors, who is
popular with GOP leaders, calls taxes too
high and government too big.

The Christian Coalition of Colorado has targeted Republican U.S. Senate candidate Pete Coors in a mass-mail campaign that accuses him of supporting the "radical homosexual agenda."

In a flier that was sent to 100,000 voters last week, the Christian Coalition denounced Coors for running "one of the most gay-friendly companies in the nation."

The flier also claims that Coors "pledged to use your tax dollars to advance the radical homosexual agenda through same-sex partner benefits."

Cinamon Watson, spokeswoman for the Coors campaign, said the mailing was a "smear tactic" and a sign of desperation by Coors' rival, former U.S. Rep. Bob Schaffer.

3. Go Bob Schaffer!
coors money will probably buy this election but I hope NOT!

coors is saying government is too big and taxes too high? How does he feel about government snooping into the lives of Women?

And what is going to pay for the Schools, policemen, and Firemen?

Doesn't sound like he anything fresh to add to the conversation!!

4. I saw a short news story on Coors yesterday
He was in a debate with a 'Pub primary challenger. Someone asked a question referencing Paul Martin. Coors answered "first of all, I don't know who Paul Martin is." Coors' opponent pointed out, dryly, Paul Martin is the Prime Minister of Canada!

The story went on to say Coors isn't doing so well in the polls and his ultra-Conservative primary challenger isn't doing much better. The Dem candidate for that Senate seat has a comfortable lead against either one of the 'Pubs. The Conservative 'Pub is too extreme and the moderate 'Pub is an idiot. It looks like we're gonna pick up a Senate seat in Colo.

14. Coor's position on gays is a straight trade off to avoid a union.
Give the benefits that Anheuser Busch does to beat that vote.

He has no love or position on gay people, other than what happens at the brewery. Don't kid yourself.
