Insurgents in Iraq Kill 7 Iraqis, 4 U.S. Troops (8-3-04)

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Insurgents launched a fresh wave of attacks in Iraq (news - web sites), killing six Iraqi national guardsmen in a suicide car bombing and four U.S. soldiers in separate incidents in Baghdad and the volatile west of the country.

A roadside bomb Tuesday also killed a local police chief in Baghdad, just hours before interim Prime Minister Iyad Allawi was due to return home after trying to win support from neighboring countries to stabilize Iraq.

The suicide car bomb blast at a checkpoint outside the town of Baquba wounded six other Iraqi guardsmen, said National Guard Lieutenant Mohamed al-Dulaimi at the scene.

3. "Stay the course!" "We broke it, we fix it!"
I fear that we all heading down the Nixonian path of "Peace with Honor" that resulted in so many deaths and misery in Vietnam.

The only solution is to bring the troops home NOW, and not try to exact a victory that will never be.

9. I think that might be the damned scariest thing
he's ever said. For our pResident to be so insane as to think and state that repeating the past, with hindsight, is the correct course of action is proof of his unfitness as CIC.

5. This just can't be....
I'm shocked! Bush told us "Mission Accomplished." He even dressed up in his trick-or-treat costume like an Air Force pilot to prove it.

He's a Cheneying, yellow-bellied, chickenshit of an idiot-in-chief.

Enlist your two children, you piece of dogshit.

6. CNN.com: Why 4 Iraqi dead make headline but not 4 dead GIs?
"Suicide car bomb kills 4 at Iraqi checkpoint"

http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/meast/08/03/iraq.main/index.html

"BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- Four Iraqi National Guardsman were killed and six wounded Tuesday when a suicide car bomb rocked a checkpoint near the eastern city of Baquba, police said.

The suicide bomber was driving a 1979 Corona..."

They even tells us it was a 79 Corona.

Buried way down in the article:
"Four members of the U.S. armed forces have died in Iraq over the past 24 hours, the Coalition Press Information Center said Tuesday."

"With the deaths, 919 U.S. troops have died in Iraq"

8. I was just coming to post your post! If there is a fire and 400 people die
Edited on Tue Aug-03-04 12:57 PM by dArKeR
the only headline in America is, "One American dies in Market Fire". If a plane crashes with 350 on board the only headline in America is, "No Americans on board."

"Insurgents in Iraq Kill 7 Iraqis, 4 U.S. Troops". In this title why are Iraqis put before Americans? Most people skim read and may never read the last words.

These points can be proven by fact of records from public archives of the news over the last 10 years. Why has it changed since aWol's murdering war?
