Bush: 'Who the Heck Wants to Be Wartime President?
(CNSNews.com)

In a speech to minority journalists in Washington on Friday, President Bush said he'd rather not be a "war president."

"This is a dangerous time," Bush told the Unity convention. "I wish it wasn't this way. I wish I wasn't the war president. Who in heck wants to be a war president? I don't. But this is what came our way. And this is our duty -- to protect our people. And I'll continue to do that to the best of my ability." ...

76. "The terrorists" are in a variety of places
Including Pakistan, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Jordan, Europe, and even right here in the U. S. Afghanistan and Iraq were both easy targets for Bush to take on while consolidating power here at home. They were both Muslim countries with hard-line rulers, and in many ways, they both still are (the Taliban still has a power-base and Iraq is becoming a fundamentalist state). Neither war has gained credibility since we "won."

54. People should wear flip-flops to a b*sh rally.
Then, in a coordinated move, everyone who despises the man's policies takes them off and starts clapping them together in unison.

It ain't Kruschev, but it'd be hilarious to see! At least, until the goon squad took the protesters to the ground...

63. Leggo my eggo!
Someone should make a design of the White House with one of those huge "WAFFLE HOUSE" restaurant signs in the front.

And what's up with this? Does Bush honestly think only MINORITIES are against the war? Is this why he chose to say this to MINORITY journalists:

"In a speech to minority journalists in Washington on Friday, President Bush said he'd rather not be a "war president."

What a maroon...

84. I've got Bush I's Waffle House menu
I was in DC just before the Big Dog's inauguration in 1992, and went, to the Clinton-Gore inauguration store and found this laminated menu called George Bush's Waffle House. I thought it was such a hoot, I bought it....

"Welcome. George Bush will be happy to serve you...whatever you want. The management of the Bush Waffle House has changed many times, and so has the menu...Say anything to bring you in, do nothing to serve you and stick you with the bill."

Among the menu offerings are, along with famous Bush I quotes on the topics:

Read my Lips Service
Jobs - On the Short Side
Pay Raise Souffle
Iraq of Lamb
Deep Voodoo Pie
Half-Baked Head Start

Hey DU'ers, maybe we can come up with one for Dubya's Waffle House...

20. the warp resident
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/3470139.stm

from the Russert interview on Feb 8 2004

excerpt:

Mr Bush defended the invasion of Iraq, saying it was a "war of necessity".

He said he had not called Saddam Hussein an "imminent threat" but said it would have been too late if the US had waited until the danger was that close.

"I'm a war president. I make decisions here in the Oval Office in foreign policy matters with war on my mind," he said.

53. Bush was laughed at this morning at that Unity Conference
I believe it was a member of the Native American press who asked him a question about sovereignty. After hesitating, Bush gave some kind of a roundabout answer about sovereignty being the condition when you are sovereign and he also said something to the effect that "we have given you sovereignty". He was saying this to a crowd of Americans. I heard loud laughter from the crowd in the background right through Bush's microphone (so it must have been pretty loud in the room). Does anyone have a transcript or, better yet, an actual audio record of that speech? I doubt that open laughter will be noted on a transcript.

61. Losing?
I admit there are serious problems in Iraq, but there is no way you can convince any sane minded person that the war effort is a losing one.

Do you think that the end of World War II was a cake walk when the Germans surrendered? It took almost eight (8) years for civility to resume.

Admit it, the job done by the troops was incredible and the problems in the after math are isolated to Islamic Fanatics.

77. What the hell are you smoking?
Once the Germans surrendered, there was NO INSURGENCY. What the hell are you talking about '8 years for civility to resume'? It took like DAYS, not years.

After WWII, in Germany, there were NO SUICIDE BOMBINGS, MORTAR ATTACKS, nor DEAD AND MAIMED US SOLDIERS! What history books are YOU reading?

Sure, maybe we 'technically' Won in Iraq. If you are talking about the War. But we've most certainly lost the Peace. And are not likely to ever achieve it. And the Peace was BY FAR the more important piece, at least according to Chimpy now that he realizes there are no WMDS and NO AL-QAEDA LINKS.

82. Um, friend, I beg to differ.
Nothing isolated about it. And frankly, there weren't hoards of "Islamic Fanatics" to have to deal with over there in the first place, until bush took a baseball bat to the hornet's nest (against MANY people's urgings). He's nothing but the dream poster-child for al Qaeda recruitment. Perhaps you'll consider the latest account from highly-respected British journalist Robert Fisk -

it's called "Can't Blair See that this country is about to explode? Can't Bush?"

http://www.robert-fisk.com/articles427.htm

Afghanistan is coming undone, in the meantime, too.

60. THEN WHY'D YOU START THE CHENEYING THING IN THE 1ST PLACE GEORGE?
YOU KICKED the inspectors out!

YOU invaded in spite of the overwhelming evidence presented to you that your hoped-for reasons for invading didn't exist!

Saddam complied with your every whim - constantly changing the terms of what he should do, short of just walking out of HIS country!

IT'S YOUR HARD-ON FOR THE WAR THAT GOT US IN THIS MESS AND HAS UNNECESSARILY KILLED OUR YOUNG MEN AND WOMEN AND THEIRS!

It's yours alone bunkerboy!

You and your sorry-ass syncophantic repukes are the ones who would listen to no disenting opinions - in spite of MILLIONS of "focus groups" who loudly demanded we NOT go!

one that served in war time with Distinction, Patriotism & Honor....not a deserter that shirked his responsibilities and couldn't even report for duty because he was too busy snorting coke.

91. another flip, flop ???? which way to bury the seeds this time?
Isn't it the truth, huh?

GWBush does, yet, another flip-flop when the seeds he has sown reap a shallow bitter harvest . . . his war isn't working well . . . so GWBush wants to plow it asunder and sow, yet, at another 180 degree angle . . . revisionism as harvest

:wtf:
