Bush Urges Kerry to Say Yes-Or-No on Iraq
By SCOTT LINDLAW Associated Press Writer

President Bush challenged Democratic rival John Kerry on Friday to give a yes- or-no answer about whether he would have supported the invasion of Iraq "knowing what we know now" about the failure to find weapons of mass destruction.

"I have given my answer," Bush told a cheering crowd. "We did the right thing and the world is better off for it." ..

.. My opponent said something the other day I strongly disagree with _ he said that going to war with a terrorist is actually improving their recruiting efforts," Bush said, referring to a remark Kerry made Monday.

"Now, that's upside-down logic," Bush said. "It shows a misunderstanding of the enemy." ...

7. " As always,Bush's team carefully weeded out the dissenters"
Two groups tried to shout each other down as Bush's motorcade rounded a bend onto a farm, one contingent shouting "Four more years!" and the other "Three more months!"

As always, Bush's team carefully weeded out the dissenters, and "four more years!" was the only cry heard in a pasture-turned-political venue here.

13. I wonder how they do that
exactly - what legal grounds is there for doing this, if they're not on private property? Or are they? The Secret Service can't do it. Or at least not legally.

...Then asks, "Where's bin Laden, you mealy-mouthed little weasel?"

"Who attacked us on our own soil on 9/11... then just walked away because you didn't have the externally-located gonads to send our troops in after him?"

9. What a f***ing A$$
God what a moronic, dissembling P.O.S.

Don't you just LOVE the way his propaganda CONSTANTLY tries to tie Iraq in with Osama and the WOT, even when its so F***ING OBVIOUS to ANYBODY apart from the drooling Faux Watchers/Limbots that IRAQ HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE WAR ON TERROR.

Kerry did NOT say he wouldn't have launched a War On Terror and Bin Laden, he says he wouldn't have attacked and occupied IRAQ. Get it STRAIGHT, Commander Bunnypants!

I look forward to Kerry's response. This is a great chance to put Chimpy in his place...

15. Kerry's already answered this.
In an interview with several journalists during the primary, he said something like, "You know me, do you believe that I would have lead us into Iraq if I had been president?" He made it clear that he wouldn't have gone in. DU's Will Pitt was there and reported on it.

16. I think this will be Bush's plan to debate Kerry...
It seems like Bush is trying to debate Kerry in the press because he knows he's going to absolutely get his clock cleaned in a face-to-face debate. Not a bad idea actually, although it will ultimately be ineffective.

23. Oh just shut up Shrub, STFU! Kerry's talking about IMPORTANT things
like breaking energy dependency, jobs, other domestic issues. You want him to break away from his message to give a Yes/No answer to a question that wouldn't even be in question if you weren't such a complete and utter self-serving deluded ass-hole!

STFU and crawl back under the rock in Crawford from whence you came. At the very least, go work on a message of your own for America - you've been doing a bang-up job in that area so far - turning the corner :eyes:

I can't believe this BS. Why does the press give this BS any time or space.

It's a legitimate question and Kerry's been avoiding an answer. Hell, even some Republicans have said they wouldn't have voted for the resolution in retrospect.

35. Nonesense. We all time travel that way.
There are whole arrays of experiences we all have that are liable to such a question. We ask it of ourselves and answer it all the time. And on an issue of this magnitude, it is especially important because it tells us directly what Kerry would have done, what policy he would have followed. It gives him a chance to distinguish himself from Bush, who has already said that new knowledge doesn't mean anything to him.

28. What kind of "understanding of the enemy"
led to so many American's dying after you said the war was over, Mr. Bush?

What is the "understanding of the enemy" that has made Afghanistan no better off now than it was when we invaded?

How many innocent Iraqis have died since the invasion, Mr Bush? Does your "understanding of the enemy" include this info?

How unfair of Kerry not to do everything Rove desires.

The fact that Bush will not be able to spring this ever so critical gotcha means that Karl will be pulling more all nighters.

31. Lindlaw is THE most aggressive ass licker of them all.
How does a guy who writes sentences that a second year journalism student cringe get to cover the preznit of the US? Easy. First you dog gray davis for a couple of years. That gets you to DC when the rethugs come to power. Then you write so many fawning stories about the chimp that he asks you to go jogging and mountain biking with him.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A2621-2002Aug10.html

When he falls off his mountain bike you try to make him look like lance armstrong.

Then you become a kool kid.

34. If only Kerry had the balls
to FINALLY admit he was deceived into voting in favor of the Iraq War Resolution, the right-wing bobbleheads wouldn't be able to continuously claim there's no distinguishible difference between Bush and Kerry on the Iraq war issue.

I've yelled at him so much on his blog they friggin' banned me.

Don't get me wrong, I'll still vote for Kerry/Edwards, mostly because I like Edwards and will vote for anyone who has a chance to oust Bush, but Kerry and his people have tin ears when it comes to listening to their constituents, and he's fucked up more times than Howard Dean. At least Dean had "spine" - which I've seen very little of in Kerry.

36. Kerry urges Bush to try to talk without a prepared speech!
Anyone notice how Kerry walks around and talks without any notes? Talking from his heart, his gut, his knowledge of the truth. Anyone notice how bush has to always stand behind the lectern, with notes, turn the pages, look down at his prepared speech that someone else wrote for him? Kerry might want to speak to Bush's writers and say, which one of you wants to know the yes or no answer? Because I know Resident Bush doesn't truly care one way or the other.
