HOUSTON -- Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for a Baytown teenager convicted of killing his elderly neighbors, despite the U.S. Supreme Court's recent decision to consider this fall whether executing people for crimes committed at 17 is unconstitutional.

Robert Acuna, now 18, was convicted of capital murder Friday in the Nov. 12 shooting deaths of his neighbors, James Carroll, 75, and his wife, Joyce, 74, in their suburban home.

Acuna's mother, Barbara Acuna, said she's dismayed that prosecutors want her son executed.

I remember when a white female college student got drunk (she was underage by the way) got behind the wheel of a car and struck and killed a police officer here in Austin. Must have been about 9 years ago. She got probation.

4. I would wager $1,000 that I could go down the register of felons and

their prosecution and jail time and could tell who was black and who was white...at least in Texas..and maybe in several other states. This is as disgusting as that poor child who twirled that little girl around and slammed her into a post...I am sure he was being mean..but being a 1st degree murderer....NEVER...blacks have no rights in America...except those give by prosecutors...:grr:
