Democrats to Challenge Nader Petitions, Alleging Fraud (Penn)
HARRISBURG (AP)

Most of the signatures independent presidential candidate Ralph Nader's supporters submitted to get his name on the Pennsylvania ballot are invalid because of fraud and other deficiencies, a lawyer for Democrats who plan to challenge the petitions said in a published report. ..

Many of the signatures were collected in Philadelphia through a contractor who paid petition circulators as much as $1 a signature. ..

Democratic volunteers told The Philadelphia Inquirer that some petitions were filled out entirely in the same handwriting and that others contained repeated signatures of the same name. "This is the worst nomination petition or paper that I have seen in the last 15 years," Gregory M. Harvey, a Philadelphia lawyer working with the House Democratic leaders, told the Inquirer. ..

An independent Quinnipiac University poll conducted last month showed Kerry leading President Bush in the state 49 percent to 42 percent in a two-way race. Adding Nader to the equation showed Kerry's support dwindling to 46 percent, compared to 41 percent for Bush and 5 percent for Nader.

4. Doubtless, Ma'am, the Contractor Paid With Republican Party Funds
The "candidacy" of Wrecker Nader is nothing more than an effort by the reactionaries to depress effective turn-out on the left this year. This simple fact needs to be recognized by all persons of left and progressive views....

5. Has Nader always been this narrow minded?
I always thought he was a man of the people. Is he humping for a job on the Carlyle board of directors?

6. Hope they have better luck than we did here in California...
Darrell Issa brought in folks from out-of-sate, against California law, to get enough signatures to initiate a recall against Gray Davis.

It was challenged, but the powers-that-be said that the "voter's intent" mattered more than the mere fact that the signatures were obtained *illegally*.

And you wonder how Arnold took Cali??
