Nader petitions circulated at GOP (Cheney) rally Iowa
CLIVE, Iowa (AP)

Some of President Bush's supporters are again being asked to sign petitions to put consumer activist Ralph Nader on the ballot in Iowa as an independent presidential candidate.

At least one volunteer was asking Republicans who were gathered to hear Vice President Dick Cheney speak at a rally in this Des Moines suburb to sign a petition for Nader. The volunteer refused to identify himself or what group he was with. ..

.. "No employee of the Republican Party is circulating petitions for Ralph Nader," she said. "I think it's people that just support his candidacy."

It is not the first time that Nader petitions have been circulated at a Republican event. ..

1. LMAO

Yea, if I was a Nadar-ite...trying to drum up votes for Ralph Nadar...the first place I'd go is to a group of Right-Wing Republicans. :silly:

Every one there has signed a loyalty oath to Bush*/Cheney.
Sounds like mixed allegiances. :)

12. Until someone passes a law that says they can't do that there is
nothing underhanded about this at all.

4. I wonder if the Nade supporter signed a loyalty oath also
They don't let opponents of the Bush administration within a mile of those rallies.

5. You've answered your own question...
...being a "Nader supporter" and a "Bush loyalist" go hand in hand.

7. It isn't funny
any vote Nadar takes from Kerry is scary. I have attended several rallies where this has gone on. Hopefully they won't get it done. Gore only took Iowa by 4,000 votes last time. If this were 1980 and it was Anderson that is one thing, putting that POS back in the white house for one more second is not a laughing matter. Vote Democrat Vote Often!

16. Keep your friends close...
but your enemies closer. I was in Davenport when Kerry and the shrub were both in town. I did not rob a bank thank you:) I have been to a couple of Nadar things spreading the Nadar quilt factor and these "just to clean" looking folks were there. I asked who they were with and they delcined to answer. They all got into a huge SUV- (strike One) Bush stickers (strike two and three) It is organized.

14. I have finally figured who Nader reminds me of - Its Leon Trotsky
He will do his best to sabotage the democratic process in order to "proove" he is right. Will he end up the same way ?

17. Bullshit!
People are being paid by republican firms to gather the signatures. Do you THINK for a moment that WE, as democrats, would be allowed to circulate thru a GOP event gathering signatures for a Democrat?

These people do not know how to win fair and square. They're cheats.. and liars.. and no one likes them.

19. Well of course they are...
I'm not pissed at the Republican volunteers for doing this. Of course they want Nader on the ballot because it helps Bush's sorry ass.

If Roy Moore had decided to be a presidential candidate, we would be out there making damn sure he was on the ballot in some states, now wouldn't we?

Don't be pissed at the GOP for this, be pissed at Nader for accepting the help and for continuing his candidacy during this most important election year.
