This is great, it exposes Freak Republic as the teeming site of bigotry that it really is:

Slur-Slinging Anti-Kerry Author's Rants Welcomed on Right-Wing Bulletin Board

Jerome Corsi, co-author of the anti-Kerry book that is drawing fire for its inaccuracies, claims his homophobic, anti-Catholic, anti-Muslim and anti-Semetic comments on the right-wing FreeRepublic bulletin board were jokes but a close review of his long history of nastiness on the board reveal a pattern of hate, intolerance and bigotry.
“I considered them a joke,” Corsi told the Associated Press after he was questioned about the comments Tuesday. “I don’t stand by any of these comments and I apologize if they offended anybody.”
An avalanche of email received Tuesday after Capitol Hill Blue, with the help of Media Matters for America, cataloged an extensive list of Corsi’s anti-religious slurs, homophobic insults and right-wing attacks, showed many people did not find Corsi humorous.
And an even closer review of Corsi’s postings since 2001 on FreeRepublic reveal his comments could not, by the wildest stretch of imagination, be considered jokes but were – in fact – consistent with the often homophobic, bigoted, hate-filled right-wing extremism of the bulletin board.
“We will use this forum of Kerry's campaign to repudiate this traitor and expunge the Hanoi Kerry poison from our lives once and for all,” posted a FreeRepublic member who calls himself "Chieftan" Tuesday night.
“Oh Geez, Colmes is bringing up freeper author. Smarmy bastid,” wrote another, called "arbee4bush" in reference to Fox Talk Show host Alan Colmes asking Corsi’s co-author, John O’Neill, about Corsi’s posts on the bulletin board.
Such language is typical on FreeRepublic which founder Jim Robinson says believes “in our continuing fight for freedom, for America and our constitution and against totalitarianism, socialism, tyranny, terrorism, etc., Free Republic stands firmly on the side of right, i.e., the conservative side.”
For many of FreeRepublic’s members, this means gay-bashing, racism, anti-Semitism and slurs against anybody deemed as an enemy.
Corsi’s slurs, which he now claims were “jokes” fit right into FreeRepublic’s style.
“Corsi is one of us,” bragged poster Chad Fairbanks Tuesday night.
“He made a post...supposedly as a satire...where he made some remarks he now regrets. References to "ragheads", saying disparaging things about Islam, and an un-funny (by his own admission) Catholic joke were part of it. The left is now trying to nail him on it. I'm willing to forgive him,” posted hoagy62.
What hoagy62 is willing to forgive is a lot more than “some remarks.” Since 2001, Corsi has posted hundreds of hate-filled screeds to FreeRepublic.
A few examples:
“Islam is a peaceful religion as long as the women are beaten, the boys buggered, and the infidels killed.” (11/22/2002)
“Let's see exactly why it isn't the case that Islam is a worthless, dangerous Satanic religion? Where's the proof to the contrary?” (04/24/2004)
“JaneFondaKerry is being heavily funded by Iranians -- check out how Gore was funded by the Chinese in 2000. May not come out until after the election but when it comes to JustForKerry the old rule applies in every aspect of his life – “FOLLOW THE MONEY.” (03/02/2004)
“The Rats better think twice about the bogus charge that the President went "AWOL." Looks like John F*ing Kerry went traitor.” (02/04/2004)
“John Commie-Kerry has voted for decades to dismantle the US military.” (02/01/2004)
“The only way to beat this bitch is to nail her on the issues.” (Talking about Senator Hillary Clinton on 06/08/2003)
“Let the FAT HOG run!!!” (Again about Hillary Clinton on 08/30/2003)
“And now we get Pooh-LEFTY pushed on us by the RATS as Minority Leader in the House -- here come the SanFrancisco liberals -- hope the RATS go back to focusing the debate on gay marriages and other pro-choice topics close to Pelosi's heart.” (Comments on Nancy Pelosi posted 11/18/2002)

A number of FreeRepublic posters defend Corsi’s remarks.
“I still don't see the connection between someone making comments about Muslims and the veracity of typed words spoken by true war heroes,” said "nuffsenuff."
“Jerome R. Corsi is/was an active Freeper who used some questionable terms for Arabs and had some harsh words about Clinton and Kerry. IMHO, they were rather benign, but they were taken out of context in order to keep the character assasination machine alive,” posted “APFel” Tuesday. “Frankly, I don't think he has anything to apologize for.”
“As far as I am concerned he told the truth and has nothing to apologize for,” posted by “sport.”
The Kerry campaign called Corsi's Web chat postings disgusting.
"President Bush should immediately condemn this sleazy book written by a virulent anti-Catholic bigot. It says something about the smear campaign against John Kerry that it has stooped to enlist a hatemonger," said campaign spokesman Chad Clanton.
Terry Holt, a spokesman for the Bush-Cheney campaign, said neither the president nor his campaign has ever questioned Kerry's military service. "It's shameful for the Kerry campaign to suggest so by falsely associating use with this effort," Holt said.
Neither the Bush campaign nor the White House, however, has distanced themselves from Corsi or the book.
