Kerry frenzy builds as visit nears (Medford, OR)
Democrats by the thousands plan to welcome their candidate to Southern Oregon on Thursday

A Marine for six years and a Republican for 40, Randy Hoopingarner turned his back on the GOP in January because he just couldn’t support President Bush, he said.

"I don’t think he’s got the intellect to be president," said the Eagle Point resident, who is now a registered Democrat along with his wife, Yvonne. "There’s a feeling of deviousness to the man."

Kerry, who will be traveling to Eugene later that evening, will give a speech at about 5 p.m.

Joanne Steele, a member of the Beat Bush Brigade from Mount Shasta, said that on Monday at the Jackson County Democratic Headquarters, "2,000 tickets went out before we could take a breath." Oregon Kerry campaign officials would not divulge the total number of tickets requested as of Tuesday night.

Free tickets for the Sen. John Kerry rally, which is open to the public, will be available at the following locations through Thursday …

4. The Southern Oregon rebellion began a couple of years ago
I could relate an anecdote, but not without great professional risk. Suffice it to say that the Republicans for Kerry trend in Oregon has been building and is reaching fever pitch.

GO MEDFORD! YOU MAKE ME PROUD TO BE AN OREGONIAN!

5. I asked a couple steele plant owners....
All they could say was Bush is dissappointing. That was an unbelievable admission by people who would never vote any other way but republican. Kerry in a landslide:) If we say it enough it is true right Dubya!

6. Electrifying response
I've been working on enlisting southern Oregon business leaders for the Kerry-Edwards campaign. Since Monday we have have recruited as many business owners in southern Oregon as we had statewide just two weeks ago. It gives me goosebumps.

13. "Kerry Frenzy! Quick, raise the terror level!"
"Gotta keep those wild eyed Democrats in their place!"

I prefer 'frenzy,' though, to whatever it is Bush is offering whenever he tours. :boring:

People are worked up, which is good, if we can keep people focused and motivated to go to the polls.

"I don’t think he’s got the intellect to be president," said the Eagle Point resident, who is now a registered Democrat along with his wife, Yvonne."

It's the THINKING people who will do the right thing, not the Rushbots and Bushbot sheeple. (What was that Clinton quote from The Daily Show recenlty about thinking and voting Democratic?)

18. Wow, Southern Oregonians!
Jackson County went solidly for Bush in 2000. It's Republican country, but perhaps not for much longer.

Nice job, Democrats!
