Cheney Says Kerry Lacks Deep Convictions
Edited on Wed Aug-11-04 04:22 PM by JI7
<Vice President Dick Cheney said Wednesday that Democratic Sen. John Kerry lacks "deeply held convictions about right and wrong" as he argued that voters would make a grave mistake if they replaced the current commander in chief.

Campaigning for the Bush-Cheney ticket in this swing state, the vice president opened the session with some of his harshest criticism of Kerry, saying he wouldn't trust the four-term lawmaker to make decisions about going to war.

"We don't want to turn that responsibility over to somebody who doesn't have deeply held convictions about right and wrong," Cheney said. "And I must say, I look at the record of our opponents. There is a lot of hesitation and uncertainty."

Outside the hand-picked crowd, even in this conservative part of the state, Cheney had his critics. But they knew they were in the minority.

"I wish I could tell you how we really feel _ they'd throw us out," said Leroy Jackson of Joplin, retired from a trucking company, who was talking politics with his wife over eggs at Denny's. >

24. Too right...
Cheney used all regular deferments and then knocked up the lovely Lynn in order to get an additional parental deferment. When queried about Vietnam service he claimed "other priorities."

21. Does this man NEVER change his mind about anything?
I mean come on, the mind is always active and always "thinking", Its the more logical idea that ones own mind changes when more information is passed its way...to be stuck in one mind-set for any human is wrong.

He is trying to say that Kerry is a "flip-flopper" without saying it..like he tried to get folks to put Saddam and 9/11 on the same page and it didn't work, well for the persons out there seeing the bigger picture it didn't.

I always find it funny that he and Bush seems to have very little to trump about in there three plus years so they have to distract folks with jabs at Kerry or Edwards...Maybe if he talked about the war..I mean the jobs...no wait..the capture of Bin Laden...umm...there was that book reading with the kids...oh jeez....Oh yea the tax cuts that helps the poor..no I mean the rich...forget it.

Maybe to him "deeply held convictions" mean "If you screw up you never have to say your sorry"

31. is anyone seeing the real intent here?
"We don't want to turn that responsibility over to somebody who doesn't have deeply held convictions about right and wrong,"

This is such wedge creating psycho speak. It's sickening really the depth of depravity they have sunk to here. For them to presuppose that they have the divinity to know another persons depth of conviction is disgusting, when what they are really saying is we are more moral then them.

33.  Conviction you say??
So Kerry lacks conviction. That's a real laugh considering
Cheney should be convicted, (of fraud, war crimes, theft just
to name the least offensive crap this thug has pulled. Maybe
Kerry lacks a conviction, but that's because he hasn't
committed any crimes.

What a complete bag of slime this asshole is. Can you say
convicted and sentenced to life w/o the possibility of parole.
Can you spell ENRON. You still need to cook those books a
while longer before they are ready for the paper shredder.

He's the only person in the entire world that I wish a
pacemaker malfunction to happen to. When he dies we can
cremate him in a coal fired power plant. That ought to black
out the entire east coast for a while. But it will be mucho
fun knowing that such an evil force has come to it's surreal
demise.

Get the impression I don't like this fucker. If you do then
you're right as rain.

35. Welcome onboard paulie5!
Cheney talking about convictions? What a joke. The only deep conviction he has is to lining his pockets with ill-gotten profits.

Hey Dick, how was your deep conviction in 1998 when yu were CEO of Halliburton and doing business with Iraq....against US trade sanctions?

This man is the last guy on the planet to be commenting on convictions. They just don't make scumbags like Dick Cheney anymore.

Considering what you've got us into and how you prefaced the reasons for going to war with Iraq, that's a bit rich Dick
