Sen. Shelby hires attorney in leak probe (Clinton Impeachment Lawyer)
http://www.myrtlebeachonline.com/mld/myrtlebeachonline/news/nation/9374363.htm

Oh the humanity!!!! Sen Shelby (R), hires....not only one of those "wrascally" TRIAL LAWYERS, but none other than the same guy that represented Clinton! Irony is NOT dead.

"A Washington attorney who represented President Clinton at his impeachment trial and has a long association with Democrats will defend Sen. Richard Shelby, R-Ala., against ethics charges that he leaked classified information to the media."

Isn't this a shocker? Crisco Johnny could not find enough evidence
:eyes:

"Last month, the department referred the matter to the ethics committee, signaling criminal charges are unlikely. Shelby, the former chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, who was vice chairman at the time of the leak, has said he has never "knowingly compromised classified information."

Bet if Johnny knew that he was going to hire a Clinton lawyer, he'd have his ass in GITMO.

Got to love those ethical, strong convinction, non flip-floppin' Repubs don't you?

1. If Shelby's own legislation hadn't been vetoed by Clinton,
Ashcroft would have an easier conviction. Something in a bill Shelby wrote in the 90's about the intent of the leaker not being relevant to prosecution would have sunk him.

And now? His whole wagon is hitched to the Big Dawg's star.

2. Should have kept reading. It's even better

The lawyer also represented Elian Gonzales' dad.....and, are you sitting down? Sen Edward Kennedy and Reagan assasin John Hinkley.

I'm sorry, but it is hard to type while I'm laughing so hard. A repub being represented by a "pinko, commie, athiest trial lawyer who also worked for Ted Kennedy and the guy who shot Reagan.

God must be pissed!

Forgot to add this from the article. What the hell does this say about the people in Alabama?

"Shelby, up for re-election in November, doesn't appear to be in jeopardy of losing that race, regardless of how the ethics probe turns out."

:wtf:

4. I guess O'neil is too busy lying on National TV or else even Republicans
won't hire his lying ass. A saying I learned a long time ago "If you will LIE for me you will LIE to me." Same thing for stealing. If you will steal for me you will steal from me. I don't trust Republicans at all.
